Community Preservation Committee Meeting
Thursday, June 9, 2005

The Community Preservation Committee (CPC) held a meeting in the Mural Room, Lower Level of the Town Hall on Thursday, June 9, 2005 beginning at 8:00 a.m.  Members present included Chairman Holly Morris, Nancy Bennett, Brendan Keohan, Pat Loring, and George Wadsworth.  Tony Kelso and Sarianna Seewald were absent. Also present was Joe Grady, Conservation Administrator.

PUBLIC FORUM
No subject was brought forward.

DELANO PROPERTY HOUSING
Mr. Keohan reported the Housing Authority has received $93,000 in renovation funding for the Delano house.  He also reported the Housing Authority would meet on August 3, 2005 to review the layout for the group home.

WRIGHT BUILDING
Ms. Morris gave a project update.  She reported she has asked the architect to break out the dollar amount for each lease holder.  Duxbury Rural & Historical Society has drafted a lease.  The CPC discussed lease status and possible content.  Ms. Morris will contact the Board of Selectmen to ask them to proceed with the lease.  

HOUSING/HISTORICAL RESTRICTIONS
It was reported that no historical restriction is needed for work on a town-owned building.  Ms. Loring reported that she has a contact with the Town of Bedford that has done housing restrictions.

TARKILN COMMUNITY CENTER
It was reported that the contract has been signed and that there will be a meeting with the architect on Monday, June 13, 2005 at 9:00 a.m.

OTHER BUSINESS
The CPC discussed a draft bill being proposed by Representative Webster regarding establishing an Affordable Housing Trust Fund.

Mr. Grady reported on the status of the Island Creek fish ladder project.

Ms. Bennett reported on the status of the Bluefish River Firehouse restoration project.

ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS
THE CPC signed a bill from Town Counsel.
