Community Preservation Committee Meeting
Thursday, September 23, 2004
The Community Preservation Committee (CPC) held a meeting in the Mural Room, Lower Level of the Town Hall on Thursday, September 23, 2004 beginning at 8:00 a.m. Members present included Chairman Holly Morris, Nancy Bennett, Tony Kelso, Pat Loring and George Wadsworth. Brendan Keohan was absent. The Conservation Administrator, Joe Grady was also present.

PROJECTS UPDATE
Wright Building – Ms. Morris reported on her conversation with the Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, Andre Martecchini who recommended that the architect meet with all the potential users of the building and then schedule a public meeting to review the architect’s recommendations. Ms. Bennett reported the Historical Commission is moving forward with an application for the Wright Building to be place on the National Register of Historic Landmarks and recommended the architect speak with Norman Tucker of the Historic Commission.
Mr. Grady reported that the DPW has no funding to turn the heat back on while the building is unoccupied. Ms. Morris would check with the architect regarding the heat situation.
Jaycox Property – Mr. Grady reported on the progress of the project.
Delano Property – Mr. Wadsworth reported that the DPW Director has included the wellsite into his capital budget at $120,000. It was noted that the original request was $125,000 so Mr. Wadsworth will talk to Mr. Daley to change is request to $125,000.
Congress St. Land – No new information was reported.
Swanson Conservation Restrictions – Mr. Grady reported the surveyor had installed the property bounds and that he was waiting delivery of the site plan.
ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS
The CPC reviewed draft minutes of the meeting on 9/9/04. Ms. Loring made a motion that was seconded by Mr. Wadsworth.
Motion: to approve the minutes of the meeting on 9/9/04, as written.
Vote: 4 – in favor; 0 – opposed, 1 – abstention (Bennett). Motion passed.
The CPC signed expense bills.
