BOARD OF SELECTMEN WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 16, 2005
MINUTES OF MEETING SELECTMEN’S OFFICE 3:30 PM
The meeting was called to order at approximately 3:30 PM with the following members present: Martin W. O’Brien, Chairman; Susan J. Bolster, Selectwoman; Brian J. Perrin, Selectmen and Virginia L. Wilder Executive Secretary/CAO.
General Business
VOTED: on a Motion by Selectwoman Susan J. Bolster, 2nd by Selectmen Brian J. Perrin and made unanimous by Chairman Martin W. O'Brien to remove Attorney Ed Patton from the FAA Taxiway Committee and appoint James B. Dumser of Shirely Street to fill the vacancy.
VOTED: on a Motion by Selectwoman Susan J. Bolster, 2nd by Selectmen Brian J. Perrin and made unanimous by Chairman Martin W. O'Brien to approve an entertainment license for radio music only to Gary Smyrlian of Subway on Shirley Street. Music is permitted daily from 10AM to 10PM.
VOTED: on a Motion by Selectwoman Susan J. Bolster, 2nd by Selectmen Brian J. Perrin and made unanimous by Chairman Martin W. O'Brien to award the bid for the work on the floor at the Shirley Street Fire Station to Green Environmental, Inc. of Norwell, MA in the amount of $34,500 to be funded through MWRA Funds.
VOTED: on a Motion by Selectwoman Susan J. Bolster, 2nd by Selectmen Brian J. Perrin and made unanimous by Chairman Martin W. O'Brien to approve a temporary exemption for recently appointed Police Officers to attend the Police Academy as there is no space available presently at the Academy for said officers.
Treasurer/Collector Nick Basso was present to update the Board on the Highlands Avenue property that had recently been foreclosed on by the Town.
Chairman O’Brien then suggested the Board enter into Executive Session.
