Town Council Meeting Minutes
April 1, 2008
Under the Rules and Procedures of the Winthrop Town Council, President Reilly called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM in the Joseph Harvey Hearing Room. Councilor Ferrino, Councilor Gill, Councilor Letterie, Councilor DelVento, Councilor Maggio, Councilor Sanford, Vice President Boncore and President Reilly were present. Councilor Calla was absent.

There was no public comment.
CORRESPONDENCE
Letter from the Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Jenkins to the Council.
TOWN MANAGER’S REPORT
Town Manager Rick White summarized the Department of Public Works’ recently submitted Wind Turbine report.
OLD BUSINESS

VOTED: to appropriate $225,000 from the Unreserved Fund Balance for the School Department.

VOTED: to transfer $5,000 from the Town Council Reserve Fund to the Conservation Commission
MOTION: by Councilor Letterie

MOTION: Effective July 1, 2008 to extend the employment contract between the Town of Winthrop and Richard J. White through June 30, 2011.
Councilor Ferrino suggests to postpone to next meeting until Councilor Calla is present.

NEW BUSINESS

VOICE VOTE: to appoint Brian J. Beattie of 71 Birch Road to the Board of Appeals for a term ending on June 30, 2010.
