ZBA2011-2 Application for Special Exception for office, conference area, and future assembly area of crafts at 156 River Road (Map 15 Lot 27A Zone R80) Owner: Tom Buccino Applicant: Opportunity Works CT. Inc (Received April 14, 2011 Public Hearing May 12, 2011 Decision within 65 days after close of P.H.)
Bill Paluska President of Opportunity Works was present to speak about the application. He stated that his organization helps to find employment for people with disabilities from the age group of 18 and up. In the future they will be teaching clients to make wooden craft. The company will be working directly with the state Department of Disable Services. Outside service coordinator Roberto Maritz was also present.
B. Semprebon asked if the clients would be come in and out of the space. B. Paluska stated that clients and representatives from the state would be in and out at different times during the day. They may have up to five full time employees. B. Paluska states that they have applied for five parking spaces, at present there will be three full time employees. Starting off it will be office activity only. In the future we will be teaching clients how to do light office work and assembling crafts. M. Masinda stated for the record that EHHD approval and abutter notices are in the file.
M. Masinda asked if anyone wanted to speak either for or against the application.
T. Buccino stated that he felt it was a good addition to the building.
M. Masinda closed the P.H. at 7:40.
ZBA2011-3 Application for 42’ front yard variance for screened porch at 132 Daleville Road (Map 12 Lot 4 Zone R80) Owner/Applicant: Stephen Bowen (Received April 14, 2011 Public Hearing May 12, 2011 Decision within 65 days after close of P.H.)
Stephen Bowen was present to speak about the application. He state the house was built in 1810 when set back was not required. The house has an existing porch and he would like to extend the porch to create a section that is screened in. He states he would need a 42’ front yard variance.
M.Masinda asked if anyone wanted to speak either for or against the application. C. Fitzgerald spoke in favor of the application.

Joel Salisbury was present to speak about the application. He stated that he would like to open an office for creative marketing and design. They specialize in web design.
R. Maloney asked how many employees. J. Salisbury stated two employees, and that they would need only one parking space.
M. Masinda stated that the abutters had been notified and EHHD approval is in the file.
M. Masinda closed the P.H. at 7:54.
