Public Hearing was opened at 7:30 by Mark Masindia.

ZBA2010-3 Application for variance to Section 8 Table 8.02 for a 19’ front line and 8’ side line variance for proposed additions (phase 1, 2, & 3) to present fire station. 24 Old Farms Road (Map 23 Lot 44 Zone R80) Owner/Applicant: Willington Hill Fire Department (Received June 10, 2010 Public Hearing July 8, 2010 Decision within 65 days after close of P.H.)
M.Makuch was present to speak about the application. M. Makuck showed the Board Members the preliminary site plan for the proposed addition. He spoke of the different phases in the building construction, and the asphalt to be removed. The hardship is the lot is nonconforming. Abutting property owner S. Summers had concerns about how the changes would affect their property. She felt that they already had drainage problems.
M. Masinda closed the Public Hearing at 7:45

M. Masinda asked for discussion on the application.
R. Maloney made a motion to approve the a 19’ front line and 8’ side line variance for proposed additions (Phase 1,2, & 3) to the fire house at 24 Old Farms Road.
R. Maloney spoke of his concerns with the increase in the roof line, and how it will also increase the water runoff. The drainage could become an issue, if it comes directly off the roof.
J. Rup primary concern was how the drainage would affect the abutting property owners.
The Board Members discussed the maximum coverage of the lot.
R. Maloney stated that some of the coverage was going to be remove, which would help with the drainage.
J. Rup seconded the motion. All voted in favor.
