MINUTES
January 8, 2004
REGULAR MEETING:
Members present: R. Maloney, N. Wilson, Annemarie Poole seated for R. Manaskie and Patti Wright seated for C. Deskus
CALL TO ORDER: Opened at 7:30 p.m.
MINUTES: R. Maloney made a motion to table December minutes until February meeting. N. Wilson seconded the motion. Vote: All in favor.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. A site walk was held on 1/3/04 at 2 p.m., T. Smith, N. Wilson, and R. Maloney attended, for File 2003-22 – Application for a rear line variance for a wood shed on property located at 377 River Road (Map 29, Lot 1, R80) Owner/ Applicant: Merritt Knight. A motion to hold a public hearing on 2/12/04 at 7:30 p.m. was made by R. Maloney and seconded by N. Wilson. Vote: All in favor.
2. A site walk is scheduled for 1/17/04 at 2:00 p.m. for File 2003-23 – Application for a front yard variance to erect a 3-car detached garage on property located at 4 Hockla Farms Rd. (Map 22, Lot 25A, R80) Owner/Applicant: Patti Wright. A motion to hold a public hearing on 2/12/04 at 7:30 p.m. was made by R. Maloney and seconded by N. Wilson. Vote: All in favor.
3. A site walk is scheduled for 1/17/04 at 2:30 p.m. for File 2003-24 – Application to appeal ruling of Zoning Agent for home occupation at 364 Tolland Tpke. (Map 22, Lot 28A, R80) Owner/Applicant: Joseph M. Renzulli. A motion to hold a public hearing on 2/12/04 at 7:30 p.m. was made by R. Maloney and seconded by N. Wilson. Vote: All in favor.
4. A site walk is scheduled for 1/17/04 at 3:00 p.m. for File 2004-01 – Application for a variance for a business at 93 Latham Road (Map 4, Lot 13, R80) Owner: Betty Cydylo; Applicant: Roland Savoir. A motion to hold a public hearing on 2/12/04 at 7:30 p.m. was made by R. Maloney and seconded by N. Wilson. Vote: All in favor.
5. Election of officers – A motion was made by R. Maloney and seconded by N. Wilson to table elections until we have a full board to vote. A. Jordan will send notices to all members to encourage them to attend the February meeting. Vote: All in favor.
DISCUSSION:
o Discussion regarding the roles of alternates was held. R. Maloney suggested the alternates become familiar with the applications submitted and plan to attend the site walks in case they are seated for a regular member during a public hearing.
o Mr. John Prusak discussed his desire to become a member of the ZBA. R. Maloney made a motion to send a letter to the First Selectman, Michael Eldredge recommending Mr. Prusak for the position of alternate on the ZBA. N. Wilson seconded the motion. Vote: All in favor.

Motion made by N. Wilson to adjourn meeting, seconded by R. Maloney.
