Meeting Minutes

Regular Meeting

D. Schreiber called the meeting to order at 7:30.

New Business

W2013-35 Application for Timber Harvest at Mihaliak Rd & Doratzak Rd (Map 50 Lots 05, 05B, 07, 07A Zone R80) Owner: Lisa Kenderdine Applicant: Stephen Acerbo (Site walk on October 27, 2013) (Received October 21, 2013 P.H. or decision by December 9, 2013)

D. Schreiber and T. Gutowski previously conducted a site walk on the property and D. Schreiber said they did not see anything that was not reasonably covered by the applicant.  T. Gutowski questioned whether the culvert pipes could carry the weight and a discussion was held.  

T. Gutowski motioned to approve the application on the condition that if any issues arise with the crossing or the culvert pipes, the applicant is to come back before the commission.  M.Drobney seconded the motion. All in favor.

W2013-36 Application for Timber Harvest at 145 Mihaliak Road (Map 50 Lot 2 Zone R80) Owner: Margaret Harrison Applicant: Stephen Acerbo (Site walk on October 27, 2013) (Received October 21, 2013 Public Hearing or decision by December 9, 2013).

D. Schreiber and T. Gutowski previously conducted a site walk.  The commission looked at the map and a discussion was held on the existing skid way.  A discussion was held on corduroy and the best time of year for harvesting.  A discussion was held on the regulated area.  

T. Gutowski motioned to approve the application on the following conditions:

  • The crossing to the north of the pond be bridged by a corduroy or a temporary bridge and shall be removed when the work is completed.
  • All work is to be done during the driest part of the year for minimal impact to the wetlands.
  • At the completion of the harvest, the skid trails shall be seeded and mulched.
  • No cutting within 50 feet from the edge of the pond.
A discussion was held on the best time for harvesting and the applicant said he would keep IWWC informed of the conditions.

M.Drobney seconded the motion.  All in favor.  Motion carried.

Correspondence

  • Letter dated 11/28/13 from DEEP regarding the Parizek Pond Dam; it is potentially a moderate hazard.
  • The Habitat, Fall 2013 edition.

T. Gutowski motioned to approve the minutes of October 21, 2013.  M. Drobney seconded the motion. All in favor.
