Town Meeting Minutes 12/22/2009


TOWN OF WILLINGTON

            MINUTES

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING

December 22, 2009

 

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:04 p.m.

First Selectman, Christina Mailhos read the call of the meeting and asked for nominations for a

Moderator.  Mark Palmer made a motion to appoint Christina Mailhos as moderator and was seconded

by Alan Ference.              

Motion carried.

Item I.

To see if the townspeople, on the recommendation of the Board of Finance, will authorize the appropriation of $150,000 from the General Fund to be reimbursed by the STEAP Grant for the River Road Complex.

A motion was made by Shirley Ernst and seconded by Laurie Semprebon to approve

 Item I.

The Recreation Commission was present to explained what the monies were going to be used for.They are continuing to move forward with the plan for a pavilion, plays cape, basketball court, volleyball court and a walking path.

Concerns on starting before everything is in place was questioned.  Clarifying that the Department of Labor is contacted to make sure that the requirements for the wages are correct.  Christina stated that she is in contact with them.

Motion carried.

Item II

To see if the townspeople, on the recommendation of the Board of Selectmen will accept Wilderness Way as a Town Road.

A motion was made by John Patton and seconded by  Mark Palmer to approve

 Item II.

Discussion followed on the procedure for approving the road and there were unanswered questions on concerns.  No one present to answer certain questions presented.

Motion not carried.

A motion was made by Ralph Tulis and seconded by Dot Drobney to adjourn the meeting 7:25

Motion carried.
