Town Office Building June 24, 2015
Selectmen’s Conference Room 10:00 A.M.
First Selectman Mailhos called the meeting to order at 10:07 A.M. with Selectman Blessington & Public Works Director, Derek Dimmock. Selectman Kowalyshyn called in via telephone.
- Award Contract for Public Works Garage Upgrades
Derek stated that he sought 4 bids for the project (replacing the skylights with vinyl energy efficient windows) and received 2 bids back:
Soucy & Sons, Inc.: $30,500
Bellefleur Construction, LLC: $10,550
Derek added since the Bellefleur quote came in so low, he also asked for an additional bid for light panels and two new entry doors. The bid for the light panels and entry doors came in at: $7,474; total bid for all work: $18,024.
Derek recommends having the Board award the contract to Bellefleur Construction. Selectman Kowalyshyn asked why there is such a price difference. Derek replied that the quotes contained the same amount of work and both were for energy star window replacement.
Selectman Kowalyshyn moved to award the contract to Bellefleur Construction as per his bid of $18,024.
First Selectman Mailhos seconded the motion.
First Selectman Mailhos noted that the reason we have called this meeing is because the work must be done within this fiscal year, which ends on June 30th.
Vote: 3 Yes (Mailhos, Kowalyshyn & Blessington) 0 No.
Selectman Blessington moved to adjourn at 10:12 A.M.
First Selectman Mailhos seconded the motion.
