Special Meeting Minutes
Town Office Building August 10, 2010
Selectmen’s Conference Room 12:30 P.M.
First Selectman Mailhos called the meeting to order at 12:33 P.M. with the following in attendance: Selectman Millix & Blessington with Dave Harding and Mark Palmer of the Center School Water Committee.
A. Award Center School Water Main Contract – Phase I
The Board received the recommendation from the Center School Water Committee. Superintendent Harding, Chairman of the committee and Mark Palmer, Vice Chairman were available to answer any questions.
First Selectman Mailhos stated that the lowest bidder was Gerber Construction. Matt Brown of Anchor Engineering checked their references and received positive feedback.
Superintendent Harding stated that Gerber’s alternate unit price for pavement, bid at $37,000 was incorrect; however the project will be awarded on the base bid and unit adjustments 1-4. The alternate bid will not be awarded at this time.
Selectman Millix moved to award the Center School Water Contract Phase I to Gerber Construction in
the amount of $185,000 as recommended by the Center School Water Committee.
Selectman Blessington seconded the motion.
Vote: 3 Yes (Mailhos, Millix & Blessington) 0 No.
Selectman Blessington moved to adjourn the meeting at 12:43 P.M.
Selectman Millix seconded the motion.
Vote: 3 Yes (Mailhos, Millix & Blessington) 0 No.
