Meeting Minutes
Special Meeting October 8, 2009
Town Office Building Immediately following Kechkes Road Bridge Meeting -10:00 A.M.
First Selectman Eldredge called the meeting to order at 10:20 A.M. with the following in attendance: Selectmen Palmer and Charette, Karl Acimovic, Lynn Nicholls and resident
First Selectman Eldredge motioned to award the contract of the Removal and Replacement of the Kechkes Road Bridge to Putnam Welding for the base bid for items 1-15 at $119,399.24 and for the alternate number 16 for $19,000.
Selectman Charette seconded the motion.

First Selectman Eldredge said that we will set up a pre-contract meeting. He will contact Nancy Wagner on October 13th. We can notify Henry Becker to see when he can submit his Performance Bond, Labor material and Payment bond. The first thing needed to be done is the alternate project. First Selectman Eldredge confirmed with George Hasapes that the Moosemeadow campground will be closed. He confirmed that the campground will close on October 12th.
Selectman Palmer asked if Putnam will cut in the bypass road as well? First Selectman Eldredge confirmed this would be part of the award. Lynn said that Putnam Welding has the equipment to do it three times as fast as if Public Works does it. Karl Acimovic said that the order for prefabricated bridge is important to get in as fast as possible as well.
Selectman Palmer said as stated in the Kechkes Road Bridge Committee meeting, he does not agree.
Vote: 2 Yes (Eldredge & Charette) 1 No (Palmer)
Motion passed.
First Selectman Eldredge motioned to adjourn the meeting at 10:24 A.M.
Selectman Palmer seconded the motion.
Vote: 3 Yes (Eldredge, Palmer & Charette) 0 No
