BOARD OF SELECTMEN
Special Meeting June 25, 2009
Town Office Building 4:30 P.M.
First Selectman Eldredge called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M. with the following in attendance: Selectmen Palmer & Charette.
Interviews were held.
First Selectman Eldredge motioned to hire Tara Martin for the position of Director of Youth and Family Services.
Selectman Palmer seconded the motion.
Discussion was held with regards to position being a Town employee or contracted through an agency. The prime benefit of the position being a Town employee is that now the employee can respond to any need or situation the Town deems necessary without prior approval of the agency to permit the employee to work outside of the specified scope of services.
Vote: 2 Yes (Eldredge & Palmer) 1 No (Charette)
Motion passed.
First Selectman Eldredge motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:00 P.M.
Selectman Palmer seconded the motion.
Vote: 3 Yes (Eldredge, Palmer & Charette) 0 No
