SPECIAL MEETING DEC. 30, 2008
TOWN OFFICE BUILDING 4:30 P.M.
First Selectman Eldredge called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M. with the following in attendance: Selectmen Palmer & Charette and L. Nicholls.
BUDGET WORKSHOP
Line items were gone over and discussed, changes were made where necessary. Another workshop will be held.
ECONOMIC STIMULUS PACKAGE
Town Engineer Karl Acimovic prepared a listing of priority projects to be sent to the Governor’s office in response to her request for “shovel-ready” projects. The Board went over the list. The Kechkes Road Bridge will be moved to the list of projects ready to go within one year. The River Road Recreation Area/Phase 2 to Phase 6 will be moved to projects ready to go within 120 days. This will be e-mailed to the Governor’s office on Wed. 12/31/08 as requested.
FIRST SELECTMAN ELDREDGE MOVED THAT WE SUBMIT THE ECONOMIC STIMULUS PACKAGE WITH THE 2 CHANGES AGREED ON.
Selectman Palmer seconded the motion.
VOTE: 3 YES (ELDREDGE, PALMER & CHARETTE) 0 NO
STEAP APPLICATION
FIRST SELECTMAN ELDREDGE MOVED TO APPROVE THE RIVER ROAD RECREATION STEAP APPLICATION FOR $500,000 AND AUTHORIZATION THE FIRST SELECTMAN TO SIGN THE APPLICATION.
Selectman Charette seconded the motion.
VOTE: 3 YES (ELDREDGE, PALMER & CHARETTE) 0 NO
EXECUTIVE SESSION – DISCUSSION OF DOCUMENTS RELATED TO COLLECTIVE BARGAINING -
NOT HELD
SELECTMAN PALMER MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 6:00 P.M.
