REGULAR MEETING JUNE 16, 2008
TOWN OFFICE BUILDING 6:30 P. M.
Selectman Palmer called the meeting to order at 6:30 P.M. with the following in attendance: Selectman Charette, L. Nicholls and residents. First Selectman Eldredge was absent. Selectman Palmer led the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
SELECTMAN PALMER MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF 6/2/08.
Selectman Charette seconded the motion.
VOTE: 2 YES (PALMER & CHARETTE) 0 NO
SELECTMAN PALMER MOVED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF 6/11/08.
Selectman Charette seconded the motion.
VOTE: 2 YES (PALMER & CHARETTE) 0 NO
PRESENT TO SPEAK – No one.
CORRESPONDENCE
A list of correspondence was available at the meeting and in the Selectman’s office.
PUBLIC WORKS
Lynn commented Kucko Road is almost finished; we set lines on Lohse Road today. Selectman Palmer asked is Turnpike Road Extension a new application with FEMA? Lynn commented they needed more details. Selectman Charette asked did you walk the road for Kechkes Road Bridge? Lynn replied not yet. Lynn commented she was told a fire hydrant on Route 320 N is not working but she has not heard anything else about it; Public Works supplies the parts.
HIRE ASSISTANT RECREATION DIRECTOR
SELECTMAN PALMER MOVED TO HIRE TERI GAREAU, ON THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE RECREATION COMMISSION, EFFECTIVE JUNE 23, 2008, FOR THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT RECREATION DIRECTOR.
Selectman Charette seconded the motion.
VOTE: 2 YES (PALMER & CHARETTE) 0 NO
APPOINTMENTS
REGULAR MEETING -2- JUNE 16, 2008
SELECTMAN CHARETTE MOVED TO REAPPOINT MARY HUDA AS THE ASSESSOR FOR THE TOWN OF WILLINGTON, TERM EFFECTIVE 7/1/08 TO 6/30/10.
Selectman Palmer seconded the motion.
VOTE: 2 YES (PALMER & CHARETTE) 0 NO
SELECTMAN PALMER MOVED TO APPOINT TYLER MILLIX TO THE HOUSING AUTHORITY TO FILL A VACANCY, TERM EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY TO 8/1/09.
Selectman Charette seconded the motion.
VOTE: 2 YES (PALMER & CHARETTE) 0 NO
SELECTMAN PALMER MOVED TO APPOINT RICHARD MINDEK, III TO THE RECREATION COMMISSION TO FILL A VACANCY, TERM EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY TO 12/15/08.
Selectman Charette seconded the motion.
VOTE: 2 YES (PALMER & CHARETTE) 0 NO
GOOD & WELFARE
Lynn commented Karly’s Kids cleaned up Pinney Hill and Village Street and did a great job.
SELECTMAN PALMER MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 6:42 P.M.
