PUBLIC WORKS
Lynn gave the Board copies of the Emergency Action Plan and the Safety Policy they put together for OSHA, a draft was sent to OSHA to look over and they said it was good. Lynn needs the Board to accept them. The Board will look both over. Lynn commented she checked on beads for the roads, they are reflective. She will get the Senior Center done. Karl and Lynn reported on the problems on Kucko road. There was a question of tree cutting and easements. The trees have been posted and no one has asked for a public hear so the marked ones will be cut as agreed. The easement is what is known as a prescriptive easement, it is not in writing but has been there for many, many years. Further discussion followed regarding this. Karl brought up the fact that

at the end of the road there will be a site problem, discussion followed on that. This is a safety issue and all agreed it should be corrected. Karl will draw up sketches and get estimates. Lynn commented the work on Latham Road was fine during the storm. Selectman Patton asked Lynn to check into the section in the Emergency Action Plan that says employees are not authorized to use any portable fire extinguisher that may be present to fight fires. Lynn will check this out. The bids for Cosgrove and Eldredge Mills Roads should be ready next week. Lynn will talk to contractors; the tree cutters are needed first. As First Selectman of the Town of Willington, I recognize the need for Affirmative Action and I pledge my commitment to undertake positive actions to overcome the present effects of past practices or barriers to equal employment opportunity and to achieve the full and fair participation of minorities, women, people with disabilities, older persons, and all other protected groups found to be underutilized in the Town of Willington work force of affected by policies having an adverse impact. In the spirit of Executive Order 11, signed by Governor Ella Grasso, November 21, 1975, and Executive Order 9, signed by Governor William A.
