BOARD OF SELECTMEN

SPECIAL MEETING                                                                                                                    JULY 12, 2007
TOWN OFFICE BUILDING                                                                                                              5:00 P.M.


First Selectman Eldredge called the meeting to order at 5:00 P.M. with the following in attendance:  Selectman Lewis, L. Nicholls and residents.  Selectman Patton was absent.

PUBLIC WORKS   
The Board signed bills and reviewed a temporary easement.  Discussion on the easement followed, it will be sent to the Town Attorney to review.  Lynn has talked to the necessary people for the Tinkerville Road project.
Selectman Lewis commented make sure the Town of Ashford knows about this.  Lynn commented she talked to the State regarding how they handle weed whacking and poison ivy for their employees.  First Selectman Eldredge commented he talked to Rob Miller, Eastern Highlands Health District, who talked to Dr. Dardick and the Town of Mansfield Public Works.  Discussion followed on the various ways to handle weed whacking and poison ivy.  Lynn will look into the cost of getting the firm that sprays for the State to spray for Willington.  First Selectman Eldredge commented we will try to avoid areas with poison ivy.  Selectman Lewis commented there are things that must be done and you must take precautions to do the job.  I am concerned with spraying and getting it in the air and lungs.  Further discussion followed.  Lynn showed the old first aid kit for the Transfer Station and a new one she bought; the new one is OSHA approved and has everything that is on the OSHA list.  First Selectman Eldredge asked Lynn to get one for the P.W. garage and for each truck.

SELECTMAN LEWIS MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 5:24 P.M.
First Selectman Eldredge seconded the motion.
VOTE:  2 YES (ELDREDGE & LEWIS)    0  NO
