BOARD OF SELECTMEN
SPECIAL MEETING OCT 19, 2006
TOWN OFFICE BUILDING 5:54 P.M.
First Selectman Eldredge called the meeting to order at 5:54 P.M. with the following in attendance: Selectmen Patton and Lewis, L. Nicholls and residents.
Lynn commented Dick Claus has his van and everything is working. Bills and leave forms were signed. Selectman Patton asked is there any word on the compactor yet? Lynn replied no. Selectman Patton commented he was thinking we could get a bigger compactor for the trash, which would cut down on the loads, and use this one for cardboard and it would give us room to grow. Lynn commented it might throw the other dumpsters out of line. First Selectman Eldredge commented I think there is a 60-yard container. Selectman Patton commented it would require coordination. Discussion on this followed. Lynn commented they are still waiting for the cable for the tractor. The holder went down today and will be welded on Sat. The gas pump sensor unit seized up also.
They are starting work on the plows. Lynn gave the Board a list of equipment the Public Works would like to eliminate. Discussion on this followed. Lynn also reported that the hydraulics on the backhoe went. She has ordered the parts, it will cost over $2,000 to fix. Selectman Patton asked how is the loader working out? Lynn commented today was the first time we used it. They will come back next week to give us all full training on it. First Selectman Eldredge asked where are we on GASB? Lynn commented she has not done anything on it for the past 3 weeks. Discussion on speed limit signs followed. First Selectman Eldredge will have to contact the state regarding the speed limit signs for different roads. Lynn commented she would like to know who to call regarding her plowing before the winter starts and to address her comp. time. First Selectman Eldredge commented we have to go by the new policy we
established. Unfortunately you have to come in and talk to me. Selectman Patton commented we should address the letter we received from Lynn also. Lynn commented there are quite a few issues that need to be cleared up. This will be on the next agenda as executive session. The next meeting will be October 24, 2006 at 5:00 P.M.
