BOARD OF SELECTMEN

SPECIAL MEETING                                                                                                                    OCT. 11, 2006
TOWN OFFICE BUILDING                                                                                                              6:00 P.M.

First Selectman Eldredge called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. with the following in attendance:  Selectmen Patton and Lewis, L. Nicholls and residents.

Lynn commented they are picking up the van for the Dog Warden on Thursday.  Time cards, bills and the quarterly report for the Transfer Station were signed.  Discussion on the topsoil at River Road Recreation followed.  The energy use for the garage was discussed, there has been a good savings since the energy efficient package was installed.  Discussion on Tinkerville Road, a FEMA project, and money followed.  We have until June 16, 2007 to finish the project.  We have already received the FEMA money but must go to the Board of Finance to spend the money (approximately $5,981.00) and then the project will be contracted out.  First Selectman Eldredge will go to the Board of Finance regarding this.  First Selectman Eldredge asked Lynn to get everything ready to go to the Board of Finance.  Selectman Patton asked how did the roofing job come out?  Lynn commented very well.  Lynn commented that Partlow came in to check out where to put the sand.  First Selectman Eldredge asked about the tractor.  Lynn commented it is almost ready; the cost estimate is $6,000-7,000.  Lynn commented Fisher Hill was swept today.  Discussion on the sweeping after chip sealing followed.  Lynn is still looking for a company to stripe the roads, most want to do at least 10 miles.  Selectman Patton asked what else are you working on?  Lynn commented sweeping, doing a little more chip sealing and we need to grade the dirt roads.  Lynn commented the Library is beautiful but the catch basins in the back are 2” above the ground.  Discussion on this and parking and plowing there followed.

SELECTMAN PATTON MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 6:35 P.M.
Selectman Lewis seconded the motion.
