SPECIAL MEETING                                                                                                                    AUG. 24, 2006
SELECTMEN’S CONFERENCE ROOM                                                                                  3:00 P.M.

First Selectman Eldredge called the meeting to order at 3:00 P.M. with the following in attendance:  Selectmen Patton and Lewis and L. Nicholls, Supervisor of Public Works.  

The Board signed weekly time cards, bills and leave requests.  One bill was put on hold awaiting further information.  Lynn reported that they are moving bus turn-a-rounds, grading millings, putting reflectors on posts and doing GASBY on the culverts.  Linden Tree Co. is doing storm damage clean up.  Lynn is check other trees.  There is $11,000.00 in the budget for this and they may go over that due to the storm.  Lynn is talking to CL&P regarding some of their poles and guide wires.  Public Works is closed Friday but if either
Linden Tree Co. of CL&P needs her she will meet with them.

Monday, August 28, 2006 at 5:00 P.M. and Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 4:00 P.M. were set for the next meetings.

Selectman Patton asked First Selectman Eldredge about the investigation he is conducting.  First Selectman Eldredge commented I am just investigating; I’m not ready to report it to the Board.  Lynn commented I thought everything was going through the Board of Selectmen.  First Selectman Eldredge commented I am not ready to tell the Board anything yet.  Lynn commented I returned your call as soon as I got the voice mail; I was in catch basins all morning.  First Selectman Eldredge commented your phone was shut off when I called.  Lynn commented my phone is never shut off, I am sometimes out of range and it goes to voice mail.  First Selectman Eldredge commented your phone was shut off.  Selectman Lewis commented you should watch who you are calling a liar.  First Selectman Eldredge commented I am not calling her a liar, I am saying her phone was shut off.  Selectman Lewis became more agitated and commented you should watch who you call a liar.  First Selectman Eldredge commented I’m tired of your threats Jack.  Selectman Lewis stood up and slammed his soda bottle on the table and it flew to the other side.  Selectman Lewis began to curse at First Selectman Eldredge.    

SELECTMAN PATTON MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 3:20 P.M.
First Selectman Eldredge seconded the motion.
VOTE:  3 YES (ELDREDGE, PATTON & LEWIS)    0  NO
