BOARD OF SELECTMEN
SPECIAL MEETING FEB. 8, 2006
TOWN OFFICE BUILDING 5:00 P.M.
First Selectman Eldredge called the meeting to order at 5:00 P.M. with the following in attendance: Selectmen Patton and Lewis, L. Nicholls, K. Acimovic, D. Berto, R. Campbell and residents.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS – Will hold at next meeting.
REVIEW OF PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
The report for the fire flow was discussed. A readily available storage capacity of 7,500 gallons is necessary. Further discussion about the water system ensued and what part of the project belongs to ASHOW and what belongs to the Town. Single phase and three phase and the cost was discussed as was whether the project is a prevailing wage project or not. There is concern about PZC approval by 2/28/06 deadline. The drainage construction should take place in the summer time and the fill would go to the project, this could save about $20,000. The bid for drainage could go out around May 17th and be awarded June 7th with a start date of June 14th or 19th. It should take 60 days to complete. The STEAP grant and whether money could be
spent up front and then reimbursed by STEAP followed. First Selectman Eldredge will check on this. Test holes will be dug this week to make sure that the dirt from the drainage project can be used on site. The water supply and distribution system bids are due back Feb. 15th. at 2:00 P.M. the bids will be opened at 5:00 P.M. at a Board of Selectmen’s meeting.
SELECTMAN PATTON MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 6:54 P.M.
Selectman Lewis seconded the motion.
