Committee Minutes
Special Meeting
April 6th 2015
Attending Members: Joe Colangelo, Mike Pinatti, Ed Taiman, Al Ference, Greg Suchy, and Bill Bilyak were in
attendance.
Attending Non Members: Teri Gareau.
Meeting called to order at 7:02 PM.
I. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from the 3/2/15 meeting were reviewed. Joe Colangelo made a motion to approve, which
was seconded by Greg Suchy and unanimously accepted by the commission.
II. GENERAL DISCUSSION:
The Willington Word has been reduced to three issues per year. The Willington Word is very helpful in
posting the Parks and Recreation information. Four issues are much more appropriate and effective.
III. DIRECTORS REPORT:
*The fields will be fertilized and aerated next week.
*The shed at Town Hall Office Field is scheduled for painting.
*Karate and fencing are still operating with reasonable attendance.
*The upcoming bus trip has no attendees from Willington.
*Our budget is in order and ready for presentation.
*The CIP has awarded $5,000.00 for the “exercise stations” at the RRAC. Our request was for
$15,000.00. We will reevaluate the design and get whatever we can for $5,000.00.
IV. OLD BUSINESS:
A. Mike Pinatti reports the basketball poles at the RRAC are sinking into the ground and leaning
slightly towards the court, and the court has depressions in the court material in front of each
pole. Also there is a broken post on the parking lot fence that needs attention.
B. RRAC Irrigation Project:
*Ed Taiman worked with the AHJ in presenting the structural plans for the shed.
*Joe Colangelo is reviewing cost on a water pump installation.
*Ed Taiman has placed the order for the shed.
*Joe Colangelo and Mike Pinatti will mark the pad location for the shed again, and do the
prep work for the irrigation pipes that need to transition into the floor of the shed. We are
hoping for install of the shed by the end of May.
*Joe Colangelo and Mike Pinatti will mark the scoreboard pole locations.
C. This item was tabled, and will be part of our next meeting.
V. NEW BUSINESS:
A. A concert at the RRAC for fall was discussed, and will be presented at a future meeting.
B. A request has been sent out for a new WPRC member through the standard channels. Josh
Walsh has submitted his resignation appropriately.
VI. ADJOURNMENT:
Joe Colangelo motioned to adjourn, which was seconded by Bill Bilyak. The meeting adjourned at
8:12PM. The next meeting is scheduled for April 27th 2015 at 7:00PM at the Town Hall Office Building.
