Committee Minutes
Regular Meeting
February 24th 2014


Attending Members: Joe Colangelo, Mike Pinatti, Ed Taiman, Bill Bilyak, and Al Ference were in attendance.
Attending Non Members: None. Teri Gareau was not in attendance.
Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM.

I. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from the previous WPRC meeting were reviewed. Joseph Colangelo made a motion to accept the
minutes without changes, which was seconded by Bill Bilyak. All members were unanimous in approval.

II. GENERAL DISCUSSION:
There was no one present for general discussion.

III. DIRECTORS REPORT:
No Directors report was provided.

IV. OLD BUSINESS:

A. LL scoreboard at the RRAC discussion as follows:
Total approved install cost will be $6,750.00.
Our first fundraiser will be for Red Sox tickets raffled at the LL opening day 2014. We will also post the
project on the town website and in the Willington Word requesting donations.
Joe Colangelo will build a sandwich board for the Town Green and the RRAC to promote the project and
overall fundraising.
Our projected project completion date is for Fall 2014.
We will develop the install in phases to raise public awareness. Our first phase will be install of the
supporting posts, followed by electrical installs, and finally the purchase and install of the scoreboard.
Our next fundraiser will be for a shed at the RRAC to support refreshment sales by attending teams from
Willington in all sports. The shed is also the initial phase of our irrigation system to house the plumbing
equipment.
B. Basketball travel teams supported by the Parks and Recreation Department starting next season will
follow these additional rules:
* Tryouts will be on the 4th Monday of October and open to everyone in that age group.
* Players chosen for the Travel Team will be required to play on a Recreation team as well to help maintain a
reasonable amount of players in the Recreation program and to help keep the Recreational teams competitive.
* Any coach developing a travel team must attend the September WPRC meeting to request the development
of said team and present their agenda.
* All of the above rules and existing rules must be met on time and with official presentation to the WPRC in
order for any travel team to be accepted within the Willington Parks and Recreation Department program.

V. NEW BUSINESS:
A. Ed Taiman was introduced to the WPRC as our latest member.

B. This item will be presented at our next meeting. (Field review by members)

VI. ADJOURNMENT:
Joe Colangelo motioned to adjourn, which was seconded by Ed Taiman. The meeting adjourned at 7:55PM. The next
meeting is scheduled for March 24th, 2014 at 7:00PM at the Town Hall Office Building.
