Committee Minutes
Regular Meeting
May 26, 2009
Attending Members: Joe Collangelo, Greg Suchy, Mike Pinatti, Josh Walsh and William Bilyak were in attendance. Teri Gareau was also in attendance.
Meeting called to order at 7:10 PM.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from the previous WRC meeting were reviewed. Joe made a motion to accept the minutes without changes, which was seconded by Greg Suchy. All members were unanimous in approval.
GENERAL DISCUSSION:
None
DIRECTORS REPORT:
- Teri Gareau provided a directors report, highlights were as follows:
- Karate session 4 starts June 10th
- Flower & Gardening- 13 people enrolled
- Soccer camp for April had 15 participants
- Traditional archery was cancelled, low enrollment
- Kayak program is under review by legal. All equipment has been picked up. Will be purchasing car carriers.
- Teri provided updates on the Senior Center Recreation area, field maintenance, additional fencing for RRAC and signage for RRAC.
- Teri also provided samples of the Parks & Recreation brochure.
- Teri provided an update on Summer Camp. New director is Greg Miska. There is approximately 10 kids to 1 counselor. Teri will spend time evaluating the camp and director but not be involved daily with the camp. She could fill in if necessary.
OLD BUSINESS:
- RRAC update was provided. The bid for the well was provided and was being sent onto the Board of Selectman for review and approval.
- Mike P and Joe volunteered to go to RRAC and evaluate setting up the electrical to prepare for the water. Teri will approach Carl to add this to the plan.
- Storage shed should only be used for storage at this time.
- It will be up to LL to approach the town for any permits for other use.
V. NEW BUSINESS:
A. Field Maintenance was discussed along with cost sharing by LL and WAM
B. Teri also gave an update on “Facility Maintenance of Town Properties”. Teri mentioned working with Public works to evaluate each one of our town properties.
C. Joe Colangelo motioned to approve reimbursing LL for $1,000 to material to prepare the fields at town hall, this was ½ of the cost. Seconded by Greg Suchy. All in favor.
D. Joe motioned to approve 1 free pond pass and 1 free week of camp to the PTA for raffle. Bill Bilyak seconded. All in favor.
ADJOURNMENT:
Joe motioned to adjourn, which was seconded by Bill Bilyak. The meeting adjourned at 8:45PM. The next meeting is scheduled for June23, 2009 at 7:00PM at the Town Hall Office Building.
