Committee Minutes
Regular Meeting
February 24th, 2009
Attending Members: Joe Collangelo, Greg Suchy, Al Ference, and William Bilyak were in attendance. Teri Gareau was also in attendance.
Meeting called to order at 7:34 PM.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from the previous WRC meeting were reviewed. Joe made a motion to accept the minutes without changes, which was seconded by Al Ference. All members were unanimous in approval.
GENERAL DISCUSSION:
None
DIRECTORS REPORT:
- Teri Gareau provided a directors report, highlights were as follows:
- Karate session 2 starts March 11
- Youth basketball tournament play had begun.
- Fencing session 2 starts February 28th.
- Teri updated WRC on two new programs, Vegetable gardening and Intro to Dance.
- Reflective signs: 56 sold.
- Budget information to the board on 2/26.
OLD BUSINESS:
- There will be no CIP for 2009/2010. 2010/2011 will be $30,000 to finish the walking path.
- Budget will be submitted at the 2/24 Board of Finance meeting
- Interviews continued for additional REC commission members. Interviews and a decision will be made at the next meeting.
V. NEW BUSINESS:
A. Summer camp of 2009 will include preschool program. Cost will be assessed for before and after hours. There will be a new process for payments and eligibility to attend. Teri will be spending more time at the facility during the summer.
B. Facility usage was discussed. Concern over using for archery tournament in April at River Road. Joe motioned to not approve usage at this time due to field concerns and liabilities. Greg seconded.
ADJOURNMENT:
Al Ference motioned to adjourn, which was seconded by Bill Bilyak. The meeting adjourned at 8:37PM. The next meeting is scheduled for March 24, 2009 at 7:00PM at the Town Hall Office Building.
