Committee Minutes
Regular Meeting
August 28th, 2007
7:00 PM
Attending Members: Mike Harnad, Ed Taiman, Joseph Colangelo, Al Ference, and Mike Pinatti. John Sahi was also in attendance.
Meeting called to order at 7:15 PM.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from the previous WRC meeting were reviewed. Mike Harnad made a motion to accept the minutes without changes, which was seconded by Al Ference. All members were unanimous in approval.
GENERAL DISCUSSION:
No general discussion.
DIRECTORS REPORT:
John Sahi reported that the Halls Pond swimming area operated with no problems this summer, but the program is running at a loss. The Summer Camp at Hall School was also run by the Recreation Department this summer, and went smoothly. It is suggested that a “job description” be created for the Camp Director to better understand the requirements of the job. John Sahi reported that the Camp Director for summer “07” did an outstanding job.
OLD BUSINESS:
The fencing and infield work to be done at the RRAC is still waiting for bid packages to be sent out at this time.
NEW BUSINESS:
The upcoming basketball season will be operated as it was last year. Grade groupings will be 3-4, 5-6, 7-8. John Sahi will check on the surrounding towns for interest in travel games. The over 30 league and High School league are also being held this year. John Sahi will block out time in the gym for all of these programs.
ADJOURNMENT:
Joseph Colangelo motioned to adjourn, which was seconded by Mike Pinatti. The meeting adjourned at 7:40PM. The next meeting is scheduled for September 25th, 2007 at 7:00PM at the Town Hall Office Building.
