APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from the previous WRC meeting were reviewed.  Mike Harnad made a motion to accept the minutes without changes, which was seconded by Joseph Colangelo.  All members were unanimous in approval.

GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Jack Smith of the Willington Little League was present to speak.  Jack suggested that more volunteers are needed to help with field maintenance for Little League activities.  The WRC will create an agenda item for an upcoming meeting addressing how to best approach a better field maintenance program for town sports fields.  The suggestions were as follows;
>Little League and Soccer should raise awareness among parents of players as to this need.
>Some outsourcing for maintenance may be necessary.
>A program for weed control and fertilizing should be adopted.
>Some cost for additional and necessary maintenance should be provided in part by additional fees for recreational team players.
>Parents who don’t wish to participate physically in field maintenance programs might want to provide a monetary contribution towards these efforts.
>Create a five year plan for improvement and support of our town sports facilities.
>Install an 8’ fence along first base at Center School as part of this five year plan, to avoid overthrows hitting spectators.

DIRECTORS REPORT:
No director’s report was given.

OLD BUSINESS:
A reminder will be sent to all recreational basketball coaches that even playing time should be given to all players.  Participants in the recreational basketball program will only increase their basketball skill sets if they are allowed to play a reasonable amount of time each game.  Coaching at this level should be the same as coaching at any level.  It is to teach skills to all team players.
