Committee Minutes
Regular Meeting
                                                                         July 26th, 2005

7:00 PM

Attending Members: Mike Harnad, Mike Pinatti, Joseph Colangelo, and Bob Portello.   John Sahi was also in attendance.
Meeting called to order at 7:06 PM.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from the previous WRC meeting were reviewed.  Mike Harnad made a motion to approve the minutes, which was seconded by Bob Portello.  All members were unanimous in approval.

GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Karl Acimov was “present to speak” at this time.  Karl reviewed a framework for a RFP to be created for work to go forward at the RRAC.  Karl suggested that no work be requested until the completion of crushing and spreading gravel on the baseball field.  The RFP would include moving sand to the site from a location in town.  Possibly 350 yards.  Topsoil, seeding, drains and utilities would be the remaining focus of the RFP.  John Sahi will call the Knight Construction Company tomorrow and discuss completion of the gravel work at the baseball site.

DIRECTORS REPORT:
John Sahi reported that the hoop and field hockey camps were underway.
The telephone for the lifeguards at Hall Pond is missing.  Next summer another possibility for phone replacement will be discussed.
The Nutmeg State Games are scheduled for next weekend.
The RRAC sign is approved and ready for install.
E.O. Smith has requested some time on the RRAC All Purpose field for a football scrimmage at the end of August.

OLD BUSINESS:
The WRC calendar was reviewed by the WRC and is still being worked on.
The basketball document was reviewed by the WRC and will be completed by Mike Harnad by the next meeting.

NEW BUSINESS:

There was some informal discussion relating to possible fund-raisers.  A golf tournament was
suggested.  Joseph Colangelo will research this possibility.  Other fund-raiser ideas would be
to raffle a donated gift.  Items for fund-raisers were suggested as a backstop, scoreboard, and
general fencing at the baseball field.
The outline for WRC member and Recreation Director were postponed until next meeting.

ADJOURNMENT:

There was a motion made by Mike Harnad to adjourn, which was seconded by Joseph Colangelo.  The meeting was adjourned at 9:00PM.  The next WRC meeting will be held on 8/24/05 at 7:00PM in the Town Hall Office Building.

Respectfully submitted 7/28/05

Joseph C. Colangelo
