Regular Meeting
July 27th, 2004
7:00 PM
Attending Members: Joseph Colangelo, Mike Harnad, Mike Pinatti, Steve Swart, Ed Taiman and Bob Portello. John Sahi the Assistant to the Recreation Commission was also in attendance.
Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from the previous WRC meeting were reviewed. A change was made in the reference to the Senior Archery Tournament as a JOAD competition. It was not a JOAD event. The motion to accept was by Mike Harnad with a second by Ed Taiman. Members were unanimous in approval.
GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Pass on general discussion.
DIRECTORS REPORT:
The field hockey event was successful.
Swimming lessons at Hall Pond are underway and running well.
The JOAD archery program is proving to be a great addition to the Willington Recreation Department program offerings.
OLD BUSINESS:
No discussion.
NEW BUSINESS:
The WRC reviewed the MLB grant prepared by Ed Taiman and made appropriate corrections.
The Flag Football registration deadline is Friday July 30th. John Sahi will make a decision on running the Flag Football program this season based on the amount of registrations received.
ADJOURMENT:
There was a motion made by Bob Portello to adjourn, which Steve Swart seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 8:25PM. The next regular WRC meeting was scheduled for August 24th, 2004 at 7:00PM.
