Committee Minutes
Regular Meeting
January 20th, 2004

7:00 PM

Attending Members: Joseph Colangelo, Steve Swart, Mike Pinatti, Mike Harnad, Greg Blessing, Ed Taiman and Bob Portello.  Attorney Carole W. Briggs and John Sahi the Assistant to the Recreation Commission were also in attendance.

Meeting called to order at 7:02 PM.


APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from the previous WRC meeting were reviewed.  The motion to accept was by Ed Taiman with a second by Greg Blessing.  

GENERAL DISCUSSION:
No general discussion occurred tonight.  

NEW BUSINESS:
New business was introduced first tonight to allow for discussion of the pending claim by Mark Bilodeau vs. the Town of
Willington Department of Recreation.  An Executive Session was called at 7:07PM to discuss this claim.  The decision to
go to Executive Session was unanimous among members, as was the invitation to this session of John Sahi and Carole
            W. Briggs.   WRC member Mike Pinatti arrived at 7:40PM to join the Executive Session.  WRC member Steve Swart
            arrived at 7:46PM to join the Executive Session.  The Bilodeau claim discussion ended at 7:58PM, and Attorney Carole
            W. Briggs departed at this time. The FOI update was discussed during the Executive Session.  Upon completion of the
 update Mike Harnad moved to end the session, which was seconded by Joseph Colangelo, and unanimously agreed upon by the remaining WRC members.

DIRECTORS REPORT:
John Sahi reported that the River Road contract was to be reviewed and that some completion date may be requested.  The ballroom dancing program is underway at the Old Town Hall building.  A request was made to John from the Conservation Commission in reference to connecting existing trails to new ones at the future River Road Complex.  The WRC was updated on the progress of fence work at the baseball fields.  High School age volleyball has started at Hall School, and the JOAD archery program is underway.

OLD BUSINESS:
FOI was previously discussed as New Business.
Basketball standings and playoffs will continue as previously discussed.
The Winter Baseball Clinic volunteers are assembled.  Permission slips have gone out.

ADJOURMENT:
There was a motion made by Mike Harnad to adjourn, which Joseph Colangelo seconded.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:39PM.  The next regular WRC meeting was scheduled for February 24,2004 at 7:00PM.
