Regular Meeting
Town Office Building April 28th, 2014
40 Old Farms Road 7PM
I. Approval of minutes from the 3/24/14 meeting.
II. General discussion and open forum for anyone present. Joe Colangelo will allot time for
discussion and individual requests to speak.
III. Director’s report.
IV. Old Business:
A. Review the LL/Red Sox fundraiser for the scoreboard at the RRAC. Evaluate the process
following discussion and make an outline for providing the event next spring, with
improvements.
V. New Business:
A. Derek Dimmock of Public Works will be present to meet the WPRC members and discuss
cooperative work on the town fields as it applies to both of our departments.
B. Discuss the review made by each WPRC member of the [4] fields and waterfront.
C. Chris Gareau has made and installed a wooden scoreboard for the Hall Memorial softball
field. We appreciate his time and effort. The scoreboard is “first class” and guaranteed to
provide an additional run per game for the girl’s softball team! Thank you Chris.
D. We have [2] full size portable soccer goals at the RRAC that don’t see regular use, and are
essentially in the way of field maintenance and standard play/practice. Are these necessary or
can they be moved off the field?
E. The CIP has awarded our request for the completion of the irrigation system at the RRAC,
which includes the pump and storage tank, associated wiring, some portable water distribution
equipment and a shed. The funding comes available in July. We need to get our vendors and
values in order.
F. The bleachers and dugouts at the RRAC should have weed barrier and stone put in place at
their bases. Teri is working with Mr. Peck for a cost and appropriate solution.
