Committee Minutes
Regular Meeting
December 23, 2008
7:40 PM
Attending Members: Greg Suchy, Mike Pinatti, Al Ference, and William Bilyak were in attendance. Teri Gareau was also in attendance.
Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from the previous WRC meeting were reviewed. Al Ference made a motion to accept the minutes without changes, which was seconded by Bill Bilyak. All members were unanimous in approval.
GENERAL DISCUSSION:
None
DIRECTORS REPORT:
- Teri Gareau provided a directors report, highlights were as follows:
- Karate session # 3 started in December
- Youth basketball is underway. Some issues with new league regarding scheduling and referees. Positive feedback about playing different teams. No issues about travel.
- High School Basketball started 12/16.
- Carol Sing went well.
- Teri updated WRC on proposal to restructure the budget information. WRC made some comments. Discussion regarding budget for maintenance of fields and other miscellaneous expenses. More to discuss at next meeting.
OLD BUSINESS:
- RRAC-STEAP Grant. Teri Gareau reported that first draft was sent out for review. Comments were made by WRC members and Teri will make adjustments. Needed to be filed by 12/31.
- Youth Basketball
- In town games will be refereed by high school kids that have some forward.
- RRAC – Teri is gathering proposals for the next phase. Need to start this phase in the Spring.
- CIP for 2009/2010 will be finalized at next meeting. Looking for additional money to finish the walking path. Estimated cost will be $30,000.
V. NEW BUSINESS:
- 2009 CIP requests will be determined at the next meeting.
- Executive session lasted 15 minutes.
- Discussion for position to be “Parks & Recreation”. WRC now much more responsibility for fields in Willington.
ADJOURNMENT:
Greg Suchy motioned to adjourn, which was seconded by Al Ference. The meeting adjourned at 9:16PM. The next meeting is scheduled for January 27, 2009 at 7:00PM at the Town Hall Office Building.
