Regular Meeting
Chairman Marco called the Public Hearing to order at 7:44.
PUBLIC HEARING:
PZC2014-31 Application for Special Permit for hair salon, waxing, facial, nails service ~massage, body treatments, meditation, yoga and nutritionist at 11 Phelps Way (Map 30 Lot 14 Zone DC) Owner: C&S Willington LP Applicant: Dawn Colleen Herdendrof (Received October 7, 2014 Public Hearing October 21, 2014) Decision within 65 days after close of P.H.
Ms. Herdendrof was present. She said they are not currently doing Massage, body treatments, meditation, yoga and nutrition at this time but hope to expand in the future. A. Marco reviewed the application and said all necessary approvals have been received. He asked for comments from the public in which there were none.
E. Standish motioned to close the Public Hearing and W. Parsell seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion carried.
REGULAR MEETING
PZC2014-33 Pursuant to CGS 8-24 request for review and approval of ~tree removal and widening on Michalec Road Owner/Applicant: Town of Willington
Derek Dimmock and Christina Mailhos were present. The Commission reviewed the packet presented. Selectman Mailhos said they want to take the trees down and create a snow shelf. D. Dimmock explained the project and said they are removing the trees on the side of the stone wall; he added that the project would take approximately a month. He said they are also going to pull the stumps and if they disturb a wall, they will rebuild it or they will grind the stump if they feel they might disturb the wall.
Chairman Marco said their recommendation would be to remove stumps near the road so they don’t ruin the road surface and the stumps near the wall will be removed so as not to damage the stone wall. S. Yorgensen will draft a letter.
Old Business:
PZC2014-30 Pursuant to CGS 8-24 request for review and approval of a lighting plan for the drop-off and pick-up parking lot at 12 Old Farms Road (Center School) Owner/Applicant: Town of Willington
This application was tabled.
