Conservation Commission (Peter Andersen) – Value of Open Space to the town and the benefits derived by it.
Carol Parizek – Are we double dipping on the regulating wetland (Conservation Commission, Inland Wetlands and Zoning).
What we have heard from the Public in prior hearings:
- Don’t take 40% of the land
- Increase slope use greater than 15%
- We don’t want smaller lots; larger lots change the charter of the town
- Increase minim. Acreage to a higher number
- What is acceptable open space (total composite of land all items….wet lands, open space, slopes, etc)
- Transfer of land to Family members - Definition
- How much open space do we want vs. what is currently protected?
- Choice of open space vs. standard subdivision by applicant
- Rear lots
- Common Drive Ways how many
- Restricted covenants of common driveways
- Tax revenue loss due to conversion to open space
- Length of cul-de-sac’s and driveways
- Too much ambiguity in the interpretation of the regulations and how they are applied.
