PUBLIC WORKS
The Board signed bills. Lynn commented she got a quote from Putnam Welding for the section of Kucko Rd. near Lohse Road, Karl Acimovic thought it was a good price. T. DeVivo will send the electrician for the compactor and have it done by the end of Nov. DeVivo complained about his trucks being tied up at the Transfer Station. Lynn sent a memo to the Transfer Station regarding that and regarding recyclables, the figures do not match; we took in 174 tires and 248 tires went out, 22 air conditions came in and 11 air conditions went out, 44 refrigerators came in and 29 with out. Tires are not being marked any more. They have the receipts from the all the vendors. An account is supposed to be given every Mon. morning but that is not being done. Lynn will wait for the response to
the memo and all figures will be checked again. Lynn reported that the truck being repaired at Rose’s cost $7,000 instead of $20,000. They recommended a remote grease fitter for $1,275.00. This was installed in that truck but Lynn would like to put it on the new truck also. Selectman Lewis suggested the trucks be inspected more often to see that they are being maintained right. The Road Foreman could do the inspections. Discussion followed on this, it was decided it was a good idea but the budget has to be considered. This will be looked at again at the end of the fiscal year. Lynn asked if she would get a memo regarding the chain of command? This will be done. Selectman Lewis commented to Lynn you need to do your job so it is done, after that once you have done it you have done all that you can do. Lynn commented I document everything. Lynn commented it will cost $700 for labor and we will buy the
concrete and wire for the concrete pad. The texture 111 will be 5/8. Lynn commented she went to the State surplus looking for a replacement for the suburban; they have a couple of vehicles but other State agency have 1st pick. There is a 97 Ford F250 with 54,000 miles for $3,800, it needs brakes. There is also a 2001 4-wheel drive expedition with 90,000 miles for $3,500. Discussion on the vehicles and the budget followed. Lynn mentioned that we talked about the need to replace some plows, she will check prices. Karl Acimovic told Lynn he is getting a lot of stuff from different departments, they discussed Kollar Rd. today; Lynn didn’t know anything about it, sheis not getting all the information. They discussed the waste oil tank for out side storage. Trees on Eldredge Mills Rd. were posted and an easement is needed. They also checked out Village Hill Rd. for catch basins.
