Minutes
Present were:
Ralph Tulis, Committee Chair, Chris Demers, Gay St. Louis, Al St. Louis, Tessa Gutowski, Scott Trueb, Diane Becker, John Patton, Roger Peloquin, Suzanne Chapman, Valerie Pelletier, Tyler Millix, Bob Lisiewski, Kathy Blessing, Rick Maloney, Kathleen Demers, Susan Yorgensen and David Sousa.
After a discussion regarding members of the core committee, Chairman Tulis said that there would be 14 members. 1 from the Board of Selectman, 1 from the Board of Education, 1 from the Board of Finance, 1 from the Library Board, 3 from the Planning and Zoning Commission, 1 from the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission, 1 from the Conservation Commission, 1 from the Economic Development Commission, 1 from the Public at large, 1 from the Zoning Board of Appeals, 1 from the Fire Department, and 1 from the Land Use Office.
It was decided that a Clerk/Secretary should be hired for the Committee.
Dave Sousa of Clough Harbour Associates presented a Draft Press Release and a Draft Flyer. He also said that there was a communications protocol that had been agreed upon by CH Associates and The Town.
A Sub Committee was formed to review and revise the flyer and press release. Members are Tessa Gutowski, Kathy Blessing, Gay St. Louis, Suzanne Chapman .
A lengthily discussion regarding stake holders ensued. The consensus was that there would be 10 stakeholder meetings. 2 for Elected Officials, 1 a High School Jr. or Senior, 1 for Senior Citizens and the Chairperson of the Senior Center, 1 for the Business Community consisting of a large land owner, a member of the Businessman's Association, and a Business owner, 1 for the Educational Establishment consisting of Parents, The Board of Educations, the PTA, 1 for the residents without children consisting of empty nesters, couples without children and single person households, 1 for the Conservation and Environmental Groups, 1 for the Social/Cultural Community consisting of Social Service agency, Community Council and Parks and Recreation, and the last to be telephone interviews including those with varies State Government officials/agencies,
Chamber of Commerce, Thames River Alliance, Willimantic river Alliance and WRPA. .
The Chairman and Dave Souza will bring the final list of stakeholders to the next meeting.
The next meeting will begin at 7:00 PM.
The meeting adjourned at 10:15 PM.
