Library Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
November 15, 2011
Present: Nancy Bailey, Suzanne Chapman, Roby Passardi, Dorothy Drobney
Absent: Paula Enderle, Shirley Ernst, Katherine Kalagher-Ryan
Also present: Elyse Sullivan
Meeting called to order at 7:14 p.m. with No Quorum

A note card was received from Janice Boltseridge
DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Roby Passardi presented the Director’s Report - Reviewed and Discussed
The CT State Library annual grant has been submitted, due to the state library budget cuts all libraries will only receive $1,200.00.
A special thank you to Paula Enderle and Shirley Ernst for there service on the Library Board of Directors.
A special welcome to Janice Boltseridge and Elyse Sullivan as the newest members of the Library Board of Directors.
Starting November 30, 2011 the WPL will be providing Overdrive through Bibliomation for our library users. This will offer patrons the ability to listen and read books from numerous appatuses. We are awaiting a training schedule for the staff. We are the first CT library to be a part of this procedure.
Saturday, December 10th is the friends Bake/Tag sale from 9am-2pm. Baked Goods and Tag Sale Items are needed.
The friends wine tasting fundraiser will be held in the Spring.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Suzanne Chapman presented the Treasurer’s Report
Reviewed and Discusses
Suzanne Chapman discussed the option of reviewing other investment avenues for our investment account that might provide a better interest return.
OLD BUSINESS
a) Donation Challenge - we are still receiving envelopes as we continue to work towards our matching challenge goal
b) Wine Tasting - The friends will be organizing this event for the Spring
BOARD CONCERNS
Generator for the Library - Discussion was made on getting together pricing on a Generator/ATS (propane powered) for the WPL.
Computer Replacements - Discussion on the replacements of some/all of the library computers. Our software is dated and some computers have soon to be obsolete programs. Brittany agreed to compile some pricing options for the board to review.
Next Regular Meeting - December 13, 2011 @ 7:00 p.m.
