Library Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
May 10, 2011
Present: Nancy Bailey, Suzanne Chapman, Dorothy Drobney, Roberta Passardi, & Paula Enderle
Absent: Katherine Kalagher-Ryan & Shirley Ernst
Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Suzanne Chapman made a motion to approve the April 12, 2011 meeting minutes. Dot Drobney seconded. All in Favor. Motion Passes. February minutes will be voted on next meeting.
Email votes made on March 9, 2011 and entered into minutes
1) To approve up to $700 for the CLA Conference made by Nancy Bailey and seconded by Katie. All in favor, motion passed by email
2) Motion by Katherine Kalagher-Ryan to approve a CL&P Rep to perform an energy audit at the library. Dot seconded. Motion carried.
PRESENT TO SPEAK
None.
COMMUNICATIONS
Discussed letter from Ed Taiman regarding energy audit. The library is very efficient.
Old light bulbs will be replaced with more efficient bulbs as needed.
TREASURER’S REPORT
Suzanne Chapman presented the treasurer’s report. Reviewed and discussed. No major concerns. Building maintenance is over budget due to repairs to the elevator and toilets and the septic system was pumped for the first time since the library opened.
DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Roby Passardi presented the Director’s Report.
Discussed CLA conference.
OLD BUSINESS
- Budget for 2011-2012 Fiscal year - Passed at referendum
- Presentation to Town – Nancy and Brittany will present the prezi presentation which Katie developed.
- Donation Challenge – this year’s letter revised. Printing and envelope quotes will be reviewed. Roby to get new permit number for envelopes.
