Library Board of Directors Meeting Minutes
Regular Meeting May 12, 2009
Present: Suzanne Chapman, Roby Passardi, Shirley Ernst
Absent: Nancy Bailey
Meeting called to order at 7:10 p.m.
Paula Enderle, and Dorothy Drobney arrived at 7:18pm
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
S. Chapman moved that the 4/14/09 minutes be accepted as read.
S. Ernst seconded.
All in favor, motion passed.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Reviewed and discussed.
DIRECTOR’S REPORT
Reviewed & Discussed
Connecticut Library Conference award was displayed and photographs were circulated.
R. Passardi will evaluate the merits of using the Community Room during the annual book sale between the dates of September 5th-26th.
OLD BUSINESS
1) Financial planning was discussed. Brainstorming about possible use of funds and areas of library need was also discussed. It was decided to add a note in the newsletter stating that library patrons may want to consider remembering the library for donations. Our tax status for donations was then discussed.
S. Chapman moved to complete application for 501(C) status.
P. Enderle seconded.
All in favor, motion passed.
2) Policies were reviewd.
S. Ernst moved to accept the Fax Usage Policy as read.
D. Drobney seconded.
Discussion surrounding details.
S. Ernst moved to amend motion with minor changes to accenting “International faxes are not allowed” in bold print.
D. Drobney seconded.
All in favor, motion passed.
S. Chapman moved to accept the Use Agreement Summary.
S. Ernst seconded.
All in favor, motion passed.
NEW BUSINESS
Our copy machine lease was discussed. R. Passardi will order toner and schedule the yearly cleaning.
BOARD CONCERNS
Discussion surrounding the logistics of having a daily bus stop at the library.
S. Chapman moved that we do not set a regular bus stop at the Willington Public Library.
S. Ernst seconded.
All in favor, motion passed.
