Willington Housing Authority
Monday, July 11, 2016 – 6 p.m.
60 Old Farms Road – Senior Center
Willington, CT

PRESENT – Chairman Robert Campbell, Vice Chairman Wilbur Gangaway, Secretary Don Berg, Treasurer Claudia D'Agata, member Laurel Millix and Recording Secretary Brenda Sullivan.

1. Call to order – 6:09 p.m.

2. Present to speak – No members of the public present to speak.

3. Old Business – Senior Housing “Button Hill”

R. Campbell reported that last week's scheduled construction meeting was canceled.  He also said a ceremonial groundbreaking is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13.  

R. Campbell said the project is going well and is even proceeding a little faster than expected.

R. Campbell said D. Berg and D. Berto are continue to research bids for solar equipment for the project.  L. Millix asked when the Housing Authority will know if solar power generation will be feasible for Button Hill.  R. Campbell said that depends on funding.

There was discussion about phone service via land line (provided by Frontier) and how it will affect the location of conduits.  R. Campbell said Frontier has quoted a price of $11,000 to relocate 200 feet of line.  D. Berg said he called Nick Neeley at CT PURA about this issue, but hasn't received a return call yet.

There was discussion about the July 5, 2016 news story, “Senior housing groundbreaking set for July 13,” by Zachary F. Vasile in the Journal Inquirer.

R. Campbell reported that proposals are coming in from property management companies.  

D. Berg said he has an item for discussion at the next meeting.

4. New Business – There was no new business.

5. Correspondence – C. D'Agata said the Housing Authority received an insurance bill, but it's been paid.

6. Approval of minutes – W. Gangaway moved to accept the minutes of June 13 as written. D. Berg seconded the motion. R. Campbell abstained from the vote because he wasn't present at that meeting. All others voted in favor; the motion passed.

7. Treasurer’s report – The report was not available.

8. Adjourn – The meeting adjourned at 6:34 p.m.
