Old Business:
D. Berg reported on the Housing Authorities application to DECD. He said that Mr. Berto had been trying to meet with Karen Santana from DECD, while he tried to schedule a meeting D. Berg kept calling and putting pressure on the DECD to get their application to the acting commissioner. Ms. Santana called D. Berg this past week and reported to him that she is indeed getting the application to the acting commissioner. D. Berg stated that he will continue to make calls to DECD to make sure that the application does get pushed forward as the acting commissioner will only be in place until the end of March.
R. Campbell told the members that he received paperwork from DECD that need to be signed and return. He explained that he emailed a PDF copy with an original signature but that DECD would not accept it. So he had to mail them a copy as well. He also reported that Mr. Berto was able to meet with Karen Santana about other matters, but while there was able to discuss Willington’s application. Mr. Berto reported to R. Campbell that he had hopes that the application would be approved by their next meeting.
D. Berg told the members that he will email Ms. Santana to remind her that the acting commissioner will only be in place until the end of March and Willington’s application needs to be approved before a new commissioner comes in.
W. Gangaway said he wanted more clarification on the archeological study. He said he still is not clear about when it must be done. He said that he thought it needed to be complete before the DECD application would be approved. The members went through past minutes to find Mr. Berto’s wording regarding the archeological study. It was found that the archeological study could be completed using the DECD’s pre-development funding.
