BUDGET MEETING MINUTES

Chairman Ference called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M.

Elizabeth Treiber motioned to seat Geoff Prusak for Peter Latincsics, John Patton seconded. All were in favor, motion carried.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion to approve the Budget Meeting Minutes of February 12, 2015 with the following correction, was made by Jim Bulick, Elizabeth Treiber seconded. All were in favor, motion carried. Robert Wiecenski abstained.
- Budget request for the Ambulance Payroll should be $412,800 which is an increase of $25,971 or 6.71%.
NEW BUSINESS
Selectman's Budget
1st Selectman Mailhos presented the budget request. The request is for $3,291,653 which is n increase of $143,174 or 4.55%. She explained that a large part of the increase is in for Public Works for leasing equipment and paving roads instead of chip sealing. The increase also includes salary increases for the staff and an increase in Capital Spending. Discussion followed.

Derek Dimmock explained the reason for the paving instead of chip sealing. The chip sealing is not adhering to the roads and they are deteriorating.
John Patton asked about the Elected Official Salary study. Donna Latincsics stated that their finding will be released shortly but they are not recommending any change. John said that he is surprised because of other elected officials and employees are making more than the First Selectman. The rule was that the First Selectman's salary would be par with the other elected officials especially the Town Clerk.
The CIP request will be added to the Agenda after the Board of Selectmen have approved it.
Snow Budget Forecast
First Selectman Mailhos presented the Board with a summary of the Snow Budget Forecast. At this time there is $15,188 left in the budget.
