BUDGET MEETING MINUTES
Thursday, February 5, 2015

Chairman Ference called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M.


SEATING OF ALTERNATES

Elizabeth Treiber motioned to seat Annemarie Poole for Jim Bulick, Robert Wiecenski seconded.  All were in favor, motion carried.  

Elizabeth Treiber motioned to seat Geoff Prusak for John Patton, Robert Wiecenski seconded.  All were in favor, motion carried.


PRESENT TO SPEAK – no one


APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Motion to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes of January 15, 2015 was made by Elizabeth Treiber, Annemarie Poole seconded.  All were in favor, motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

Board of Education Budget Presentation

Superintendant Harding presented the Budget request.  The request if for $7,906,963 which is a 0% change from last year's approved amount.  He then reviewed the budget request for the Board.

The following points were discussed:

  • Out of district placement's last year
  • change what abject code people are listed under
  • savings in copier leases
  • hiring a maintenance service
  • transportation contract
  • class sizes and teacher coverage
  • purchase services IEP required
  • services cannot be cut or changed because of less students.
Barry Wallett told the Board that he is here to show his support for the budget.

Ann Grosjean spoke in support of the small class sizes.

Superintendant Harding asked that if anyone has any questions to please feel free to email him.  


Revenue

A copy of the Revenue  Budget Estimate was given to the Board.  The numbers are not final until the Governor's numbers are in on the 18th.

Next Thursday's Budget presentation is with the Emergency Services.
