Key recommendations included getting Mill area designated a historic district and the mill village on the national historic register. There was also a long term recommendation that Hall School be sold and developed as a Conference Center.

This site would enable him to consolidate warehousing for his antique business. John told Kim he was going ahead with permit process. The PZC Public Hearing on his permit is scheduled for January 19, 2016.

2015 Open EDC Activities
  • Business Directory – Kim advised that we have received $550 for ads – 1 blurb, 3 full page, 3 half page and 3 business card. The winner of the raffle for a free ad has placed an ad. Deadline for ads is December 18 and Jackie will send an eblast in early December as a reminder of the deadline. Jackie also asked for an update from Kim before our next meeting (December 28) so she can prepare a listing of businesses that require telephone or personal contact by EDC members to solicit ads. Jackie will divide up the list so each member has a pro rata share.
Kim advised that maintaining the online directory was very time consuming, and she wanted to update the alpha listing only (and not the classified listing too).  Kim and Jackie will discuss the best and most efficient ways to maintain the online directory.
  • Business Profile for the Website – Tom T. advised that he would be working on The Mill Works businesses next.
  • Facebook – Jackie reported more “likes” for the page.
  • Market Study – Jackie will contact Peter Fairweather about presenting the final report at a BOS meeting in January 2016. The meetings are on January 4 and January 19. The latter conflicts with the Z’s Antiques PZC Public Hearing which EDC and Z’s was promised EDC support.
Budget & Housekeeping
  • Jackie obtained a detailed breakdown of our 2015-16 budget which she passed out. It showed a $120 in paid expenditures (those related to business directory) and $100 in encumbered funds. Jackie will find out about the encumbered funds and confirm that Hill Top was paid.
  • There is still has one alternate seat open on the commission.

Meeting adjourned at 7:15 PM.

The next meeting will be on Monday, December 28, 2015, at 6:30 PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Tom Treiber
