WILLINGTON CONSERVATION COMMISSION MEETING
2/18/2015 Meeting
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order @ 7:06 pm.
Roll Call: P. Andersen, K. Demers, M. Drobney, M. Schreiber, R. Shabot
Approval of Minutes of 1/21/15: Minutes were approved by KD/MD: 4 ayes, 1 abstain: MS. So moved.

Old Business
A. Properties Management
1. FRP-DS: No report.
Timber Harvest: Correct policies and procedures for this project are being followed in a timely manner.
Memorial Bench: A letter was sent to J. Boltseridge about the selection of a good bench style for the memorial and styles of memorial plaques. The project is moving forward.
2 .Knowlton Preserve/Talmadge Tract: Projects
Trailhead Parking for the Knowlton Preserve has met with approval from the Board of Selectman. Correct policies and procedures for this project are being followed in a timely manner.
Bridges, Boardwalks: Tabled

B. Town Development: PZC;IWWC Tabled
C. Collaborative Organizations:
Willimantic River Alliance: No report.
Joshua’s Trust: No report
Windham County Conservation Consortium: No report.
D. Working Together project. The program name has been changed to the “Farm, Forest and Natural Resources Expo”. It will be held March 14, 10-2pm at the Willington Public Library. There are 3 speakers scheduled, over 20 vendors will have informational displays and children’s programming will include a musical event and craft and storytelling programming provided by library staff. Brainstorming and job assignments were discussed.

Other: PA did a site walk at Hall Memorial School to assess the erosion and storm water discharge into the Willimantic River. He attended a Board of Selectman meeting and shared his concerns with the Board and the Willington Superintendent of Schools.
