Approval of 4/26/11 minutes: Approval of minutes on a motion by CJ/RS, 6 ayes.
Present to speak: NA
Finance:  FY 10/11 balance is $1711.30. On a motion by CJ/MD Expense Authorizations is moved to VII .B. Other. Unanimous
Old Business
FRP-DS:
  • Trails Report: Bridging materials need to be moved from staging areas throughout the park to actual building site locations. MD & RS will scout the area for the best plan and members will meet to move the materials.
  • Burma Road: Temporary repair is underway on the roadbed.
Town Development: The PZC has adopted new Subdivision Regulations for open space subdivision and  low impact development.~

Open Space /Easement Monitoring: tabled
  • Peck’s Mill: S. Shabot has completed her EO Smith Senior Project at the Peck’s Mill site. The signs for the Greenway Park are still not erected.
Programs:  Barbara Austin will lead “Forest Edibles & Medicinals”  at FRP-DS on 6/4/11.
Collaborative Organizations
  • Willimantic River Alliance: No news
  • Joshua’s Trust: The Board of Selectman will be receiving a monetary contribution from the Trust for the Knowlton property purchase.
  • Windham County Conservation Consortium: no update
  • Dark Skies – Last Green Valley: BoS received WCC’s input on  nighttime flag lighting on the Town Green. There has been no return reply at this time.
Knowlton Purchase Update: An updated conservation easement for the property to be filed with the DEP is not final at this time.  The CFPA is also preparing a conservation easement for the Knowlton property. The Knowlton family is considering a name for the tract. Required signage will wait until their decision.
New Business
Communications: Various communications were received and discussed.
Other: Expense Authorizations: On a motion by CJ/KD “WCC is authorized to purchase signs for boundary marking and approved public use in Town of Willington conservation areas. So moved. Unanimous vote.

Adjournment: On a motion by PA/ CJ at 9:00 pm, so moved.
