10/26/10 Meeting Minutes
Call to order:~ P. Andersen called the meeting to order at 7:07 PM.
Present:~ P. Andersen, E. Brand, K. Demers, M. Drobney, C. Jordan, M. Schreiber, R. Shabot.
On a motion by CJ/KD E. Brand was seated for P. Pribula.
Approval of 8/28/2010 minutes: Approval of minutes on a motion by KD/CJ.
1 abstention: RS., 6 ayes.
Present to speak: NA.
Finance: The FY10/11 account balance is $1918.05. C Jordan has a record of open space account expenditures on the Knowlton tract and will prepare a report for WCC.
Old Business
FRP-DS:
- Trails Report: 10/30/10 is Workday at FRP-DS.
- Canine Control: no report.
Town Development: no report.
Open Space /Easement Monitoring
- Willington Heights no report
- Peck’s Mill: no report
- Roaring Brook Area: no report
- Programs: Park Day/ Daley Award: 10/16. There was a good turnout for the award presentation and hike. The next Star Party dates are 10/29, 10/30 & 11/06 (7:00 – 9:00 pm.).
Collaborative Organizations
- Willimantic River Alliance: tabled.
- Joshua’s Trust: No news.
- Windham County Conservation Consortium: Update on campaign to change the light source on Charter Communication’s cable boxes located on electrical poles wherever their cable is run.
Knowlton Purchase Update: A closing date for the purchase is being set by the attorneys.
Map Hangers Update: The new map hangers will be installed by 1/2011 based on parcel information accurate to 12/31/2010.
Other C. Jordan leads discussion on establishing a Friends group for FRP-DS.
New Business
Communications Incoming bulletins and correspondences were discussed.
Other: FRP-DS was mentioned as a source for memorial gifts in honor of Mr. Richard Shaw. The information was in his obituary notice. C. Jordan will be in contact with the Finance Dept. on this manner.
