4/27/10Meeting Minutes
Call to order:~ P. Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:15 PM.
Present:  P. Anderson, E. Brand, K. Demers, M. Drobney, P. Pribula, M. Schreiber, R. Shabot.
Approval of 3/23/10 minutes: Approval of minutes with addition of M. Drobney as present. Unanimnous.

Treasurers Report: No report
Old Business
FRP-DS:
  • Trails Report: Improvements Project report was prioritized after a visit to FRP-DS on 4/20. Motion by RS/MD to authorize the expenditure of $500.00 on lumber and hardware for use in trail maintenance at FRP-DS. Unanimous vote.
  • Canine Control Signs: MS will price out “Leash your Pet” signs from Voss Signs and report back at next meeting.
Town Development: No news.
Open Space /Easement Monitoring
  • Willington Heights: No news.
  • Peck’s Mill: WRA is establishing the Willimantic River Water Trail. PP completed the entry for Willington’s Peck Mill as a site on the trail. Motion by PP/MD to submit  to the Willimantic River Alliance an entry for Peck’s Mill as an official site on the Willimantic River Water Trail . Unanimous.  There is more work to be completed at the Peck’s Mill by WCC.
Wilderness Way: No news
Programs: Reading the Forested Landscape 5/1/10 with Jack Barclay, @ 2:30.
Collaborative Organizations
  • Willimantic River Alliance: There is a board meeting 4/28/10.
  • Joshua’s Trust: No news
  • Windham County Conservation Consortium: No news
  • Knowlton Purchase Update: The preliminary documents are at Attorney General’s office for approval.
Map Hanger Purchase: Motion by KD/RS  to authorize the purchase of a map hanging system to display the Natural Resource maps in the meeting area at Town of Willington Town Building. Unanimous.
Other:  Natchaug Conservation Action Planning update was presented to BoS by Holly Drinkuth of the Naubesatuck Watershed Council.
New Business

Willington Word: PA will submit FRP-DS trail information for the next edition of the magazine
Next Meeting Date: May 25, 2010
