3/23/10Meeting Minutes
Call to order:~ P. Anderson called the meeting to order at 7:45 PM.
Present: P. Anderson, E. Brand, K. Demers, P. Pribula, M. Schreiber, R. Shabot.
Approval of 2/23/10 minutes: Approval of minutes with abstention by MS.
Present to speak: Treasurers Report: No report
Old Business
FRP-DS:
- Trails Report: created an Improvements Project report which was discussed. Members are encouraged to visit the park with the report in hand to make a decision on work suggested.
Town Development: No news.
Open Space /Easement Monitoring
- Willington Heights: There are 2 new homes being built.
- Peck’s Mill: No news.
- 4/20/2010 6pm at Wilderness Way to look at Town owned parcel.
Programs: Star Gazing: 3/12/10, cancelled due to cloud cover. The next program is Reading the Forested Landscape with Jack Barclay, 5/1/2010 @ 2:30.
Collaborative Organizations
- Willimantic River Alliance: No news
- Joshua’s Trust: No news
- Windham County Conservation Consortium: Information on recycling was presented.
Knowlton Purchase Update: The final survey was delivered to DEP on 3/10/2010.
AT&T Telecomm Tower on Rte 74: No news.
FY 10-11 Budget: The Board of Finance accepted the proposed WCC budget.
Other: P. Andersen will submit the Annual Report for FY 09/10.
New Business
Communications: None
Other: K. Demers reported on a Grip-a- Rail system for securing the Resource Maps on display in the common meeting room.
