SPECIAL MEETING                                                                                                                    OCT. 9, 2007
TOWN OFFICE BUILDING                                                                                                              5:30 P.M.

First Selectman Eldredge called the meeting to order at 5:30 P.M. with the following in attendance:  Selectmen Patton & Lewis, L. Nicholls and residents.

PUBLIC WORKS
The Board signed bills and requests for leave.  Lynn commented the State did not do bids for sand for 2007.  Lynn will check with the Dept. of Corrections regarding signs.  The chemical shed should be here in about 2 weeks.  There has been no word on the compactor, Lynn will call again.  As part of the permit for the Transfer Station the waste oil and antifreeze tanks must be enclosed on 3 sides; Lynn has requested 3 bids on this, only one is in to date.  $900 is the only price so far for clearing the brush on Parker Rd.  Lynn will get more quotes.  Lynn checked on line painting, a 4” double yellow line is $350. per mile.  Cisar, Pinney Hill, Jared Sparks, Village Hill & Schofield Roads need line painting as well as the Senior Center.  The State has gone to beads at a cost of ¢.14’.  Discussion followed on line painting and beads.  For the roads this year the line painting will be done the same as always and Lynn will check on beads for the Senior Center.  Lynn reported Latham Road is open, everything went as planned.  Karl Acimovic and Lynn had a meeting on Mon. with Putman Welding and Henry & Larry Kucko regarding the trees being cut on Kucko Road.  The old oak tree will stay and Henry Kucko will get the wood on his side, which is our usual procedure.  Discussion followed about a driveway on Lisa Lane, Lynn will look into this.  The union representative had set up a meeting with the crew for Oct. 23rd but one crewmember will be on vacation.  It was the consensus that the meeting should be held when all crewmembers could be there.  Lynn will call to reschedule it.

FIRST SELECTMAN ELDREDGE MOVED TO ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 6:05 P.M.
Selectman Patton seconded the motion.
VOTE:  3 YES (ELDREDGE, PATTON & LEWIS)    0  NO
